The 8th grade B team kept the winning momentum going with a two set victory over the Panthers. Baylor O’ Quinn(3 Aces), Arabella Newby(2 Aces), and Paisley Cobb(2 Aces) were our top servers of the night. Aurora Varner, Sophia Lilly, and Arabella Newby each contributed at the net, combining for 4 total kills. On the defensive side, digs were spread evenly with Lily Kole, Baylor O’Quinn, Korbyn Lucas, and Kinsley Brantley each picking up one. Overall, it was a well rounded effort with contributions from across the lineup. The Lady Bobcats improve to 2-0 on the season.
7A 🔥 The girls’ serving game was on fire Monday night in Mauriceville! 🔥
Marley Webster lit up the court with a stunning 11 aces, leading the team in serves. Kamryn Breaux followed with 5 aces, while Rylie Peevey and Lily Traxler each added 2 to the total.
On defense, Tya Hughes and Kamryn Farias held strong in serve receive, keeping the momentum going. Andriana Webster was a force in the back row, leading the team in digs with impressive hustle and consistency.
At the net, Jesse Gautreaux dominated, leading the team in kills and bringing the heat on every attack.
This was a total team effort, and their energy was electric from start to finish. Let’s keep the fire going! 🔥💪🏐

Closed the night with close losses in 2 sets to the Panthers (20-25, 22-25) Leading in defense was Ava Worthy with 7 digs, Abri Marino with 5. Adalynn Worthy and Brooklyn Lee led in attacks each contributing 4.
District record is now 2-1, with our next match up being at home on the 29th against the Buccaneers of East Chambers
7A 🏐 PNG Tournament Recap 🏐
The girls opened the tournament with a strong showing against the LCM Bears. Kamryn Breaux and Rylie Peevey led the team from the service line, each scoring 2 aces. At the net, Jesse Gautreaux and Emmie McFatter brought the heat with multiple attacks on the front row. Defensively, Tenley Kibodeaux anchored the back row, leading the team in digs.
In their second matchup, the girls faced a tough battle against the Nederland Bulldogs, taking the game to three competitive sets before falling short. Despite the outcome, the team showed grit and determination.
Serving remained a strength, with Kamryn Breaux and Rylie Peevey each delivering 5 aces, and Andriana Webster adding 4 aces of her own. Emmie McFatter had a standout performance on the back row, leading the team with 5 digs, while Tenley Kibodeaux and Kamryn Farias held strong in serve receive, keeping the defense tight.
The team continues to grow and show great promise.
8A Our Lady Bobcats played beautifully together as they took on the Bears of Little Cypress in the first matchup of the PNG Tournament. Taking the win in straight sets. (28-26, 25-13) The 1st set had a tremendous comeback as Orangefield was down 18-8. Brooklyn Lee and Adalynn Worthy led that charge with their electric serving.
Next was Port Neches. Facing some tough competition in the Indians our girls battled well putting up a fight, but lost in 2 sets. (20-25, 17-25) Leading in back court defense was Ava Worthy , followed by Heaven Brickley leading in serves.
Saturday morning competition started again C.O Wilson. Beating the Pups in straight sets (25-10, 25-20) Our Bobcats came together and played as a team with Vanessa Ciancaglione, Brooklyn Lee, Mika Ragusa and Rebekah Mire contributing attacks that proved to be too much for C.O.
Last matchup was against Mauriceville, losing in straight sets (16-25, 20-25) wasn’t without leading server efforts from Mika Ragusa as well as leading in attacks.
The Bobcats went 2-2 for the tournament, extending their overall record to 6-4.

Also, please note that on Friday, October 3rd, OJH will not be accepting visitors for student lunches due to our adjusted schedule that day. Lunches can still be dropped off at the table in the lobby.

Any student with two or fewer absences during the six-week grading period is eligible for the first attendance award. Ayden maintained exceptional attendance and will receive an electric guitar for his consistent positive presence!
The second award recognizes a student from the grade level with the highest overall attendance. Our 6th grade class edged out the 7th and 8th grades by 0.5%. Reese, a 6th grader with outstanding attendance, is taking home a Kindle Fire HD Tablet for her dedication to learning.

OJH Volleyball vs Kirbyville: 9/15/25
7B - Our Lady Bobcats started the night off strong, defeating the lady wildcats in 2 sets. Raegan Gallien led the teams in serves with 8 aces. Rebekah Burt added 3 aces and 3 kills to the bobcat fight, and Emma Lecea ended the night with 2 aces. (15-10, 15-2)
8B - The 8th grade B team defeated the Lady Wildcats in two sets in their debut game of the season. Baylor O’Quinn was the top server of the night with 10 Aces. Sophia Lilly had a block and a kill. The Lady Bobcats are 1-0 on the season. (15-2, 15-9)
7A - The girls battled it out in a thrilling three-set showdown against Kirbyville and came out on top! 🔥 (25-22, 22-25, 19-17)
Jesse Gautreaux lit up the court with 6 powerful aces, followed closely by Kamryn Breaux with 5 and Andriana Webster with 3. On defense, Rylie Peevey, Emmie McFatter, and Lily Traxler were rock solid, leading the team in digs and keeping the energy high.
At the net, the front row brought the heat, Tya Hughes slammed down 2 kills, while Jesse Gautreaux and Emmie McFatter each added one of their own to seal the deal.

8A - The 8th A closed the sweep with a straight set victory over the Kirbyville Wildcats. (25-14, 25-23) Lady Bobcats came out strong with aggressive serving and steady passing, we controlled the tempo and kept the wildcats on their heels. Leading in serves were shared by Adalynn Worthy, Sophia Odom and Brooklyn Lee- each contributing 5 Aces. Heaven Brickley held her own in the back court with 8 serve receives, followed by Kollyns DuBose with 5. Vanessa Ciancaglione and Mika Ragusa had 3 kills apiece. Brooklyn Lee led in assists with 5 on the night. 8A is 4-2 overall and 2-0 in district.
Bobcats continue the season with the PNG tournament this weekend and at Mauriceville on Monday the 22nd.
7A - The girls kicked off the LCM Tournament on Friday with a tough match against LCA. Jesse Gautreaux led the team in serving with an impressive 8 aces, followed by Angelica Webster with 3 and Andriana Webster with 2. Defensively, Lily Traxler led with 3 digs, while Emmie McFatter and Kamryn Breaux each contributed 2 kills. Despite a strong effort, the team fell to LCA and moved into the Consolation bracket.
On Saturday, the girls came back with renewed energy and determination, winning two back-to-back matches.
In the first game against Vincent, Kamryn Breaux dominated at the service line with 13 aces, followed by Angelica Webster with 7 and Tya Hughes with 2. Defensively, Rylie Peevey and Angelica Webster each added 2 digs.
Next up was Smith, where Angelica Webster once again led in aces with 7. Jesse Gautreaux added 4 aces, and Andriana Webster led the team in kills for the match.
The final match was against Lewis for the Consolation Plaque. The girls played hard and showed heart, but ultimately fell in two sets. Tya Hughes led the defense with 3 digs, while Emmie McFatter and Andriana Webster each recorded a kill to lead the team's attack.
8A Bobcats Go 2–2 at Tournament
The Lady Bobcats showed grit and growth this weekend, finishing the tournament with a 2–2 record.
The first match came against LCA, where Orangefield started strong with a 25–19 opening set win. Brooklyn Lee, Rebekah Mire, and Mika Ragusa each recorded 3 service aces, while Mckenna Carruth anchored the back row with 8 digs. Adalynn Worthy added 6 kills, and Lee led in assists with 5. Despite dropping the next two sets (11–25, 7–15), the Bobcats used the loss as fuel for Saturday’s matches.
In their first Saturday test, the Bobcats defeated Vincent in three sets (25–15, 22–25, 15–11). Vanessa Ciancaglione led the way with 4 kills, while Ava Worthy, Kollyns DuBose, and Abri Marino all made key back-row saves to keep rallies alive. Emma Arnold tallied 4 assists, helping Lee notch a team-leading 4 attacks.
Momentum carried into the next matchup with Odom, where Orangefield cruised in two straight (25–9, 25–12). Arnold led with 7 aces, and Ava Worthy contributed 6 digs to secure the sweep.
The Bobcats closed the tournament in the Consolation match, against Barbers Hill–South, falling in straight sets (11–25, 12–25). Facing a strong Eagles squad, the team battled in the back court, showing composure and resilience while gaining valuable experience for the season ahead.
Our Bobcats travel tonight to Kirbyville for their 2nd district match of the season.

Tuesday evening, the new members of the Orangefield Junior High chapter of the National Junior Honor Society were inducted as family and friends gathered to celebrate their accomplishments.. During the ceremony the students spoke about the values of scholarship, leadership, service and character. The 23 new inductees were recognized for their academic achievements, leadership qualities and their positive impact they have on the community. We look forward to watching these students share their love of learning and service with our community during the 2025-2026 school year.
