Last night our Junior High band program had their end of the year Spring Concerts. The students looked and sounded amazing and represented the band program very well. Huge thank you to all of the parents and admin for their continued support of these students and their endeavors!

Attention OJH Parents/Guardians: Due to early release schedule this Friday, May 9th, no outside visitors will be permitted to eat lunch with students that day. Lunches can still be dropped off at the table in the lobby.
Also, next week (May 12-16) is the final week of open lunches with your OJH student.

On Thursday night the Orangefield Junior High Choir celebrated the end of the year with a Spring Concert. The 6th grade chorus got us started with fun songs like "It's In My Desk" and "Rainsong" and then brought the house down with their version of "The DumDum Song" . Next, the 7/8th grade competition choir showed off their talents with songs including " I am Song" and "Who Can See The Wind". They closed the show with a beautiful version of "Million Dreams" from the Greatest Showman. Kylee Barnett, Madison Bright, Vanessa Ciancaglione, Ayden Dickey, and Jaci Waldrep also performed their UIL solos for the crowd. It was a wonderful night of music for friends and family and a great way to kick off summer!!!

Thank you to the following staff for making the 2024-2025 school year unforgettable: Sara Arceneaux, Rebecca Best, Sam Cardenas, Madison Castillo, Emily Copeland, Ann Folsom, Beverly Francis, Laura Wickersham, and Abby Wilson. You make every day a great day to be a Bobcat at OJH!

OJH Parents and Guardians:
To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week, we're giving students a chance to walk a mile in their teachers' shoes! This Friday, May 2, is Freaky Friday at OJH—staff will dress like students, and students are encouraged to dress like staff.
From May 5–9, we’ll celebrate our amazing teachers each day with treats and surprises. We invite the entire OJH community to join us in showing appreciation for our dedicated staff!

Please also note that visitors will not be allowed to eat lunch with students on STAAR testing days.
Thank you for your support!

Our OJH 7th grade scholars went searching for treasure this week while practicing for the upcoming STAAR Reading test. Students began with their treasure hunt journal and clues to find treasure cards that gave them more clues to assist in deciphering the passages.

Happy Paraprofessional Day to the amazing Orangefield Junior High Paraprofessionals! Thank you for everything you do—your hard work and support mean the world to our students and teachers. In big ways and small, you serve our community and brighten our days!
