OES 3rd graders had a day filled with fun Election Day activities as students learned how our nation votes for President of the United States. Students could cast their vote, write about what they would do if they were President, and complete their own Electoral College Map as the week continues. It was a great day to be a Bobcat, and it's always a great day to be an American!

This morning Mrs. Verrett's 3rd grade students walked into a spooktacular surprise. Mrs. Verrett's classroom has become a Halloween themed room filled with glow in the dark decorations, cobb-webbed walls and spine - chilling surprises. From calculating perimeters of haunted houses to conquering fears in a mystery fear factor challenge, learning has never been this fun or frightful for our students or OISD staff members.

Mrs. Mendoza’s 5th-grade homeroom class engaged in a collaborative project for homecoming, where all students contributed to creating a large mum display. This initiative fostered a sense of community and positively impacted the classroom culture. Alongside the mum display, the students researched significant historical events that have shaped Orangefield, which they then used to create Google Slide presentations. Additionally, while working on the display, the students enhanced their understanding of measurement through a practical math lesson.
