Orangefield ISD was thrilled to receive several new STEM educational products from United Way of Orange County through a special community foundation grant that they received from International Paper. These STEM items will help our young students by strengthening critical thinking, building confidence, promoting brain development, enhancing fine motor skills, and more.

OES Parents- Tomorrow, February 2nd, is not only Groundhog's Day, but also Pajama and Hat Day. Students may wear pajamas and hats for $2!

OES students, Colbie Jackson, Aubrie Loden, Ava Palombo and Mia Goetzmann (not pictured) were recognized for their outstanding artwork at the Stark Museum on Saturday, January 27th. Their work will be on display at the museum until March 9th
January 2024 UIL Results
5th grade raced against the clock by working together to write a program, one instruction at a time, in their Relay Programming lesson in Technology. Teamwork is very important in computer science. Teams write and debug code with each other, instead of working as individuals. This activity showed students to work together while trying to be as efficient as possible.

On Friday, January 19, 2024, Orangefield Elementary received a donation in the amount of $500 from Exxpress Mart and Exxon Mobil. The check was presented by James Buchanan with Exxpress Mart to Julie Fuller, Orangefield Elementary principal. We appreciate the generous donation!
Orangefield Elementary celebrated the Bobcat PRIDE award winners for the 3rd six weeks with pizza and ice cream! We are so proud of all of them!

OES Parents: Just a reminder, spring pictures will be next Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Order forms have already been sent home and must be turned in on picture day.
4th grade completed an unplugged lesson in their Technology rotation. They were split into groups and had the task to get a "robot" to stack cups in a specific design. This activity lays ground work for the programming that they will have in the upcoming weeks. It shows the importance of defining a clearly communicated algorithm when writing a program.

International Paper awarded a $3544.00 grant to Orangefield ISD. The funds will be used to purchase items to enhance the curriculum in the dyslexia and ESL classes. Orangefield ISD appreciates the many contributions that International Paper has made to the success of our students over the years.
