In the final showdown, the Lady Bobcats faced the Port Neches Warriors in a nail-biter that came down to sudden-death overtime. Rising to the moment, the Bobcats claimed the consolation title with grit and teamwork. Christina Doucet contributed 4 rebounds and 2 steals, while Raegan Gallien added 4 points, 2 steals, and an assist. Kamryn Breaux continued her strong play with 4 points, 7 steals, and 2 rebounds. And in the biggest moment of the game, Austyn Spain sank the game-winning point in overtime, finishing with 5 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal.

The 7/8th grade choir performed selections from region competition as well as a few favorites. The high school choir closed the show with several group songs as well as a duet and a solo. Orangefield Junior High is home to the hardest-working staff in Texas! Our faculty works tirelessly to provide a safe, effective learning environment for each and every student. Many of our faculty members received nominations for this spotlight, but we want to take a moment to specifically highlight one of our hardest workers: Joli Ponfick. Not only does Coach Ponfick help with upkeep and cleaning on our campus, but she also serves as a coach to our athletes. Joli is the definition of a hard worker - she puts in great effort and never looks to be recognized for it. Beyond that, Coach has a great rapport with both faculty and students. Thank you, Coach Ponfick, for your continued hard work!

Congratulations to Orangefield Junior High students Madilynn Reynolds and Azlyn Mouton for earning the second six-week period's "Awesome Attendance Awards"!

Any student with two or fewer absences during the six-week grading period is eligible for the first attendance award. Madilynn maintained exceptional attendance and will receive an iPad for her consistent positive presence!
The second award recognizes a student from the grade level with the highest overall attendance. Our 7th grade class tied with the 6th grade class and finished ahead of the 8th grade by 0.25%. As a result, both the 6th and 7th grades qualified as eligible! Azlyn, a 7th grader with outstanding attendance, is taking home headphones, a crossover, and a JBL speaker for her dedication to learning.
Great job, Madilynn and Azlyn!

Huge shout out to STUCO for sponsoring 6 additional candy/drink packages that went to the following perfect attenders. From the 6th grade Mercy Ford, Ashley Maldonado-Bonilla, and Amy Ou. From the 7th grade, Cole Arceneaux, Alexander Delos Santos, and Kendra Nelson.
