OHS Youth Leadership Team is hosting a Movie on the Lawn on March 7th at 6:00 pm at F.L. McClain stadium.

Bobcats finish 2nd at the Bridge City Invitational. This week 19 local golf teams competed at Sunset, in Orange. Lumberton came out on top with a team total of 315, followed by Orangefield’s 330 and PNG’s 338. The Bobcats were led by Owen Sims, shooting a career best 77 which helped him secure the 3rd place spot in the individual medalist. Other top scores for the Bobcats were Gavin Gravett and Andrew Burt both shooting an 84, followed by Logan Anderson’s 85. The Bobcats will finish up their regular season next week at the Vidor Invitational, which will be held at the Country Club of Texas, in Beaumont.

OHS UIL Academic students traveled to Sabine Pass High School to compete in the Shark Meet Invitational. Results are pictured.

This week, several OHS students interested in engineering took a fieldtrip to Lamar University for the Lamar Engineering Job Shadow Luncheon. Thanks to Lamar and Mrs. Batchelor for the opportunity.

Girls Powerlifting Regional Results



Bobcats Finish 4th at Nederland Invitational.
This week 22 local golf teams battled windy conditions at the Babe Zaharias golf course, in Port Arthur. Beaumont Kelly came out on top with a team total of 315, followed by Hardin-Jefferson, and PNG. The Bobcats in the fourth spot, had a team total of 355 and were led by Davey Hogg’s 79 which helped him secure a top 5 spot in the individual medalist.

Good luck to our OHS Girls Powerlifting team as they head to Palacios for the Regional Meet!

On Monday, local golf teams competed in the Bridge City JV Invitational, which was held at Sunset golf course in Orange. Hardin-Jefferson’s #1 team led the 20 team field, shooting a team total of 348. The Bobcats came up just short, finishing as the 3rd place team, with a team total of 350. Andrew Burt led the Bobcats, shooting an 83, finishing as the 3rd place medalist. Dacius Lytle and Roc Slaughter had solid rounds, each shooting an 88, followed by Jackson Ogden’s 91 and Kaine Kendrick’s 95.

Three more member of Mrs. Bellard's Business Communications and Technology class are certified in Microsoft Office Word. Congratulations to these students: Andrew Blackwell, Ty Barber, and Jaelyn Leibold.

OHS FCCLA would like to thank everyone that participated in and/or donated to the annual Lions Club Peanut Butter & Jelly Challenge! We ended up with 335 jars, 7,587oz. from the High School alone.


Friday, the OHS UIL Academic team took a field trip. First stop was a tour of Lamar University. It was great to hear all they have to offer and run into some former students on campus.
Then they travelled to Brazos Bend State park to visit the George Observatory. Students were divided into groups and challenged to work together to land on the moon and Mars. Students completed tasks in categories ranging from communication, data entry, life supports, bots, medical team, satellite deployment, navigation, geo, and bio. The Mission Expedition was followed by presentation: The Colorful Night Sky where they learned about stars. They ended the visit in the telescope dome gazing at the moon and stars.










On Thursday, local golf teams competed in the Lumberton Invitational, which was held at Henry Homberg golf course in Beaumont. Lumberton led the 22 team field, shooting a team total of 301. The Bobcats had a good outing, shooting a team total 346, placing them in the 6th spot. Davey Hogg led the Bobcats, shooting a 78, once again finishing in the top 10 medalist, for the 4th straight event. Owen Sims had a solid round, shooting an 89. This week the Bobcats also introduced 3 new faces to the team, Andrew Burt, Rylan McAlpin, and Kaine Kendrick, with Andrew Burt leading the way shooting an 88. Schools will be back on the links next Tuesday, at Babe Zaharias.

Orangefield Track & Field Meet Day - February 19th

Last week, local golf teams competed in the Larry Paine Memorial Tournament hosted by West Brook, which was held at Bayou Din golf course in Beaumont. Kelly led all teams finishing in the top spot with a team total of 298. The Bobcats had their strongest outing of the year, shooting a team total 317, placing 4th overall. Davey Hogg led the Bobcats, shooting a 76, placing him once again in the top 10 medalist. Gavin Gravett and Owen Sims also scored well with a 78 and 79. Logan Anderson followed with an 84 and Peyton Revia shot a 90. Schools will be back on the links this Thursday, at Henry Homberg.
