On Friday October 10, 2025, members of the OHS Debate team competed at the West Hardin High School Congressional Debate Meet. Competitors included Emma Davidson, Gabby Whitaker, Carter Munson- Appleby, LeeAllen Perry, Arababella Lopez, and Kase White. Out of the six competitors, Lopez, Munson-Appleby, and White advanced to the final session with Lopez placing 6th. The team's sponsor is Bridget Luna.
Saturday October 11th, Orangefield FFA President, Parker Donnaud came home with some hardware when she showed at the Orange County Livestock Show. Parker represented Orangefield wonderfully by showing her steer, pig, and her goat. Results for Parker’s day includes:
Pig: 1st in class, 5th overall
Goat: 1st in class, 3rd overall, and Grand Champion Senior Showmanship
Steer: 1st in class, Reserve Champion Steer

On Wednesday the Bobcats competed in the 22-3A Cross Country District championships.
The Boys started the day off with a competitive race full of back and forth battles and every runner jockeying for position. Our boys put in some of the best performances of the year. Leading the way was Rylan Agerton finishing in 4th place with a season best time of 19:11. Jaxon Agerton also had a season best time of 19:41 to secure a 7th place finish. rounding out our top five was Mason Boullion in 12th place, Noah Gleason in 13th place and Koa Sides in 44th place.
The girls were up next on the course. Trinity Gordon took home the gold medal with a 1st place individual finish. Shortly behind her was Aubree Beck in 3rd place. The next three Bobcats to cross the line were Aspen Babin in 12th, Maddie LaSalle in 13th, and Kendall Sullivan in 18th place.
Both teams were able to secure a 2nd place team finish and qualify for the regional meet in Huntsville on October 20th.

Students in the OHS Patient Care Technician program educated 2nd graders at OES on how to prevent the spread of germs and proper handwashing technique. The students were then able to perform a glo-germ experiment to put their hand washing skills to the test. We hope that these skills will keep them healthy throughout this cold and flu season!
OHS Green Club Officers, President-Arinn Hebert and Vice President-Shelbi Burwick, did a fantastic job setting up the club's scarecrow, Mother Earth, at the Shangri La Scarecrow Festival. Be sure to check it out October 7 - 25.
Orangefield High School students in Mrs. Kimberly Spears' Principles of Education and Training classes hand wrote and illustrated children's books. Each book had to contain a moral and a rhyme scheme. Apple Tree graciously allowed us to go over and read our books to the kids. While there, we toured the facility and learned about the possible career opportunities within child care. We love Apple Tree and are so appreciative of their continued support!

OHS to host a Senior Financial Aid Night, Monday, October 20th
Today, October 6 OHS hosted our first ever TACRAO College Fair. We had over 20 colleges/universities on our campus. All grade levels were able to attend and ask questions and speak to admission counselors. It was a great experience for our students! Thank you to all the colleges/universities that participated.
