The Orangefield Cross County team got their season off to a great start on Saturday. The Bobcats battled the heat as they laid the foundation for a great year. All of the running Bobcats were able to compete on Saturday as they had races at all levels from Varsity through Junior High. First up were the Varsity Boys. Led by Rylan Agerton's time of 19:51, good for a 7th place finish, followed by Jaxon Agerton, Noah Gleason, Mason Boullion and Will Rutledge all turning in strong performances that was enough for the Bobcats to take home a 4th place team finish.

Next up the Varsity Girls took to the course. The Lady Bobcats would also come home with 4th place honors. They were led by Madelyn Root's time of 14:25, which earned her a 7th place finish individually. The Lady Bobcats also got strong performances from Maya Manning, Elzie Miller, Aspen Babin, and Ember Wilbur.

The Bobcats were represented at the Junior high with a great group of competitors. The Boys led off the Junior High slate, and competed well as all 3 of their runners would leave with a medal. Jax Gautreaux took home 3rd place, Logan Read brought home 4th place, and Easton Snider grabbed 9th place.

The Junior High Lady Bobcats finished out the day with another strong performance. Kinsley Greenfield led the way as she finished in 1st place! Hayden Hebert also had a very good showing finishing in 5th place. Anastyn Gamblin and Scarlett Root also ran well to help the Lady Bobcats to a 3rd place finish.

The Cross Country team will head to Hemphill on Wednesday to test themselves once again.
