
OHS has two 2023 College Board National Recognition Program Awardees! Santiago Baca and Gracie Bickham are each recipients of the National Rural and Small Town Award. Congratulations!
The criteria for eligible students include:
-GPA of 3.5 or higher
-PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 assessment scores that are within the top 10% of assessment takers in each state for each award program or earned a score of 3 or higher on 2 or more AP Exams in 9th and 10th grade.
-Attend school in a rural area or small town, or identify as African American/Black, Hispanic American/Latino, or Indigenous/Native.



On Tuesday, Mrs. Oliver's 6th grade Science classes completed a Foil Boat Experiment. Students followed the steps of the scientific method and furthered their understanding of different types of variables. They created a hypothesis and plan, then put it to the test with their foil boats.






Mrs. Garrett’s 2nd grade class enjoyed checking out books from the library yesterday!

Kindergarteners celebrated Lemonade day to end their study on the letter Ll!


Mrs. A. King and Ms. S. King's 5th grade reading classes worked on problem solving and rationale thinking while learning to work together for a STEM activity known as Save Fred. They did great and really enjoyed the challenge!

Orangefield High School 'Ready, Set, Teach!' students are ready to get started! They will be interns at the other campuses. Interns will demonstrate professional standards/employability skills, explore the teaching and training profession, understand the learner and the learning process, interact effectively in the role of an educator, plan and develop effective instruction, and have the opportunity to earn an Educational Aide I Certification upon successful completion of the program.

The 2023 high school yearbooks are in. Students may pick up their yearbook before or after school from Mrs. Taylor in Room 103. There are a few extra yearbooks available for sale at balfour.com.

All the proceeds of the Orangefield/LCM football scrimmage at LCM on Friday will be donated to the THSCEF Benevolence Fund. There is no fee to enter the game, but they are asking for a $1 donation for anyone who can.

Varsity awards include: Best Overall in Game-Day Championship, 1st in Camp Routine, 2nd in Sideline, two Gold Superior Ribbons, and earned the spirit stick all four days.
Individual Varsity awards include 6 All American cheerleaders, Kaylea Gravett, Gracie Luker, Sterling Richard, Bailey LeBoeuf, Emilee Nunez, and Phuong Tsan. Pin It Forward, Kaylea Gravett. Jump Off Champion, Natalie Black
JV squad awards include: 2nd overall in Game-Day Championship, 2nd in Camp Routine, 3rd in Sideline, and two Blue ribbons, JV also earned the spirit stick all four days.
Individual JV awards include: two All American cheerleaders, Angelina Ragusa and Autumn Harvey.
Mascot awards include: All American Mascots, Kamryn Kelley & Catalina Lawley. Pin It Forward, Catalina Lawley, and The MUSHY spirit award!
